How to use the Metronome

Press Start and the click keeps time from the audio clock, the first beat of every bar higher than the rest, with a light on the screen for each beat. Set the tempo with the slider or the −10, −1, +1 and +10 steps, or press Tap in time with the music; choose two, three, four or six beats to the bar. The same metronome sits in the Idea Recorder's toolbar, a tap away from Record.

Quick Tips

• Tap the tempo at least twice: the metronome averages your last few taps, and a pause of two seconds starts a new count.
• The tempo runs from 30 to 300 beats per minute.
• The tempo and the beats to the bar are remembered in this browser.
• In the Idea Recorder the click keeps going while you record, so wear headphones if you do not want it on the take.
