Whirl Looper

Work out song or harmony ideas by recording one layer at a time on our looper. The looper supports recording voice, drum machine, piano and synth in up to 16 layers. Signed-in users can also save loops and export them as multi-track recordings.

How to Use the Looper

Choose a source input, press Record, and play a pass of the loop. Every full pass becomes a layer until you press stop. The layers play round and round while you add more, from the same source or another.

Quick Tips

  • Set the tempo in the Timing menu before recording your firs layer of a loop; once a layer exists the tempo is fixed until you clear the loop.
  • Choosing Piano or Drums as the source opens that instrument.
  • Recording a layer with the drums set as the source will start the drum machine automatically on bar 1.
  • Lay down a drum beat as your first layer and the tempo from the drum machine will become the tempo setting for the loop.
  • Sign up / sign in to save your loops as multitrack recordings to your account.
  • Use wired headphones or the built-in speakers: Bluetooth adds a lot of delay. Calibrate in the Mic menu measures your microphone's.
  • The space bar plays and stops the loop unless an instrument panel was the last thing you touched.
